The Issues We Solve Through Low Voltage Design

Our detailed Low Voltage Design process resolves many issues, including:

  • Not knowing what cabling to install for audio/video signals, speaker, control, and networking.
  • Being forced to tear up drywall to make wiring changes when technology changes because you didn’t consider the need for conduit.
  • Uncertainty surrounding how to control your complex audio/video system when the equipment is not in the room.

The Benefits Of Low Voltage Design

  • Cabling is customized for the unique needs of YOUR system.
  • System is easy to service when issues arise.
  • Simpler to make changes to your room in the future and take advantage of new technologies.

What’s Included?

Acoustic Frontiers’ Low Voltage Design service is a comprehensive approach to creating the optimal cabling infrastructure plan and equipment rack design for your listening room, home theater, or home recording studio. The primary input to the Low Voltage Design process is the audio/video equipment selection, as determined through our Audio Equipment Engineering and Video Equipment Engineering services.

Here’s what you get:

  • Line drawings - showing at a high level what cabling should be used to connect each component. We detail not only the obvious audio/video signal and speaker cabling but also what’s required for easy system control and conduit to guard against future changes.
  • Wiring schematics - the next level down from line drawings contain specific individual cable identifiers and port connections (e.g., cable HDM-001 connects from HDMI OUT 1 on box A to HDMI IN 3 on box B). While straightforward systems might be installed without wiring schematics, they are critical to a complex system’s long-term serviceability (and your sanity).
  • Rack elevations - revealing what components go where in your equipment rack. We consider how to best manage the heat and noise generated by amplifiers, layout the rack to minimize cabling, separate low voltage and power cabling, and maximize ease of service.

What Do Our Clients Think?

“After speaking to several local dealers/installers, I requested Acoustic Frontiers design my theater. Working with Acoustic Frontiers was a pleasure. They are very knowledgeable, flexible and completed the work on schedule. I never felt I was being oversold or pushed in particular direction. They truly customized the design as per my budget and liking and I am very happy with results.”

MR. SAHNI, NC.

“Our ground floor was far from ideal as a space for a high-quality media room: big sliding glass doors, an open stairwell, and lots of reflective hard surfaces. Acoustic Frontiers gathered detailed information about the room and about our needs and priorities, and worked with our interior designer and our existing remodeling team to come up with a design that both looks and sounds great. We couldn’t be happier with the end result!”

S.G., SAN FRANCISCO, CA.

“The Raw Audio/Video is off the charts fantastic, I could not imagine any improvement at all.”

LON G, NY.
