Oppo's UDP-203 is a universal disc player that offers reference quality video and high resolution audio. It can play UHD, Blu-ray (incl. 3D), DVD, DVD-Audio, SACD and CD optical media.
It offers stereo and multi-channel audio playback, including network streaming, and supports bit rates up to 192 kHz / 32-bit PCM as well as DSD64 / 128.
One of the unique things about the UDP-203 is it's advanced image decoding and video processing technology video, accomplished via a specialized quad-core chip co-developed with MediaTek.
The MediaTek chip allows Oppo to provide unprecedented flexibility in output formats, especially with respect to handling of HDR. You can convert HDR to SDR for example, or just strip out the HDR metadata. You can also output at 8, 10 or 12 bit to best match with your display.
The Oppo does not include any streaming apps, but does have a HDMI input. Unfortunately the HDMI input does not currently support HDR.
All-in-all it's a pretty awesome product, and we included it "as standard" in all our high performance home theater builds.
