Trinnov's Altitude 16 is a lower cost distillation of Trinnov's Altitude 32 pre-pro. It offers up to 16 processed channels with Dolby Atmos, DTS.X and Auro as standard. It includes extensive DSP power, including Trinnov's proprietary speaker remapping and room optimization functionality, as well as crossovers for active speakers.
Relative to the Altitude 32, cosmetics are simplified, with a lower cost front panel. It gives up little functionally - there's no channel count upgradeability, second analog input or digital outputs. Sound quality is, as expected, reference class.
At $18,500, it's not inexpensive, but if you want a 9.1.6 home theater, it's one of the only options on the market.
The Altitude16 is a complex beast, and almost every parameter about it can be tweaked. This is good, because you can really dial it in for your room and system...but also bad, because setup takes quite a while!
